Other popular choices include working in a hospital assisting doctors and nurses, working in an elderly care facility, assisting ophthalmologists or assisting psychiatrists with their patient load. You’ll also find that you might perform administrative tasks in addition to assisting with patient care.

On the road to becoming a Medical Assistant, you make decide to take additional courses to become a nurse or even a doctor. Of course, you’ll need to understand the requirements for a solid Medical Assistant education. Most Medical Assistants have either a certificate or an associate’s degree. This can be used to gain entrance to some medical schools in the nation, as well, which will help you to further your education in the medical field of your choice. Of course, the on-the-job training gained from your experience as a Medical Assistant will be a benefit too.
